Kevin Wycliffe
Different kind of Pirate
Kevin Wycliffe was born September 19, 1975 at Great Abaco, Bahama
islands and attended school and did things that most boys did. Play
cricket and soccer but he liked watching the Miami Dolphins and
Hurricanes on T.V. on Saturdays and Sundays. and informed his parents
he wanted to play football like they do in Florida so, his parents
agreed and at age 14 went to live with his Uncle Al in Liberty
City, Miami
His subsequent skills in football paid off where he made the team
at the famed Miami Northwestern High School a team for winning lots
of football championships but carried a very poor average of players
graduating and continuing on to College. At Northwestern Wycliffe
excelled at Linebacker and was the Anchor in North western’s
vaunted 4-3 defense. Highly recruited by Miami, Florida State,
LSU and Tennessee Wycliffe was swayed by his uncle to get out
of Miami and experience a lighter side of life as compared to the
violence of Miami in the late 80’s and early 90’s
The fall of 1995 found Wycliffe in the rolling hills of Tallahassee as a freshman
Linebacker for the Florida State Seminoles. While on scholarship to FSU
he studied International Finance and wanted this to be his major.
Unfortunately for Kevin Wycliffe his football
career was cut short by a lateral break to his tibia and fibula
counpunded by severe muscle damage during a kickoff return against
the archrival Florida Gators in December of 1997.
At the urging of his Defensive Coach, he
stayed on at FSU and graduated from FSU with a BS Degree in International
Finance but soon found there were not a lot of openings in the
job market back in Miami after he left Tallahassee. His gold encrusted
teeth and Dreadlocks were not a part of what the business community
seemed to be looking for in an educated young man trying to get
into the banking business in South Florida.
However after talking to his cousins back
in the Bahamas it seemed a more lucrative business lay in store
for him in islands. One that paid big dividets for those
who know how to play the game of power in control in an expansive
playground that encompassed over 100 islands and 11,00,000 square
miles of ocean from the Abaco’s in the north and south to
Great Inagua.
That game. Cocaine and Marijuana from South
America. Those who wanted to get it into Miami have to have
a jump off point and that is the Islands of the Bahamas.
The U.S. Navy and Coast Guard in the 1990’s
had erected 4 ROTHR over the Horizon Radar systems in the Caribbean
for tracking shipments once they left South America. However
the Government of the Bahamas did not sign an accord with the U.S.
to erect such radar stations as they argued that it would hamper
proper development of the .
Bahamian tropical bird population and would
subsequently cull the schooling fish population as well. This
in essence made shipments almost impossible to track once that
ships and aircraft went north of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. A
prime bargaining chip for those willing to assist in getting shipments
transferred to Florida.

Wycliffe and his cousins would watch this
activity initially at Great Harbor airport and the subsequent anchorage
at Marsh Harbor favored spots for the latin drug runners to make
their drops exchange drugs for cash to the 2 seater aircraft pilots
and hot dog drivers of speed boats whisking their cargo to Miami.
This all changed in December of 1999 with
Wycliffe and his 3 cousins holding up two planes after landing
and beating the latins senseless.
“You land and Anchor here it ain’t
for free no mo mon…. Oh and by de way… Jimmy
Buffett said it.. No plane on Sunday… You go back
to South America and you better come back with something for us
and we will get you through to Florida. Trust me… I
got every Nigga here in dese Islands to watch you non-English Speakin Mudda
Fucka’s!!
So, it began as hate for the haves
vs the have nots and the tables can turn that fast.. Within two
years Wycliffe’s cowboys and henchmen controlled all logistics
associated with the drug trade. Each exchange carried a price
of tribute of between $2,00.000 and $5,00.000 and sometimes there
were enforcements that had to be made.. The Caribbean had
it’s pirates again… This time they didn’t have
Parrots, Cutlasses and Eyepatches.. They were replaced by cell
phones, AK-47’s and GPS.
In late September 2001 a 214 foot cargo
vessel anchored at Cockburn town that quickly offloaded two wood
boxes to be taken to the airport. Wycliffe’s cousin Lil
Sammy watched these boxes being stowed and being guarded at the
airport. He immediately called Wycliffe who had been
in Miami for the Weekend for the CLASS 1 A Optimist Football games
to come quickly. Wycliffe arrived the next day with
3 of the cowboys and ordered the box opened. Inside lay 60
AK-47’S 12 MK 19 Grenade Launchers and various Claymore
mine components with blasting caps along with two sealed containers
of Eclipse Rum,,, Signed, Hope you like it all… My
Compliments. Richard A. Brashier, CEO Caribbean Arms Limited, Puerto
Plata, Dominican Republic.
Wycliffe exclaims on opening the containers “Who
de Fuck is Richard Brashier?????? Lil Sammy steps close to
his cousin and said, Well his cell number be here mon.. Call
him.
3 rings….. Yeah, ….. Richard
Brashier??? Who the Fuck’s asking????? I got two big boxes
of dese Russian Guns up island from you wit your name on em wit
dis pop skull rum as some kind of a fucking parting gift….. You
want to talk to me now??
